$10B Proposal on the Table to Rebuild NYC’s Port Authority from the Ground Up
Earlier this month, operators of one of NYC’s most frequented bus stations announced that they had settled on a final proposal for transforming Port Authority into a 21st-century transit hub. Plans to update the station have been in the works for the past 7 years and now they may finally be coming to fruition. Although the $10 billion proposal still has to get through environmental reviews before it can compete for any federal funding, this news is a hopeful step in the right direction.

According to Srinath Perera, a professor from Western Sydney University’s Centre for Smart Modern Construction, blockchain might just be the missing link to modernizing Australia’s construction industry. Although blockchain technology has been around for some time now, it’s been slow to catch on in construction. However, when the sector is ready to embrace blockchain fully, Perera is confident that construction will see a significant decrease in costs and schedule delays.
CDC Updates Stance on Neck Gaiters
A few months ago, we told you about a report from Florida Atlantic University that looked into which face covering is most effective at preventing the spread of coronavirus. While it’s still true that thicker materials are likely to be safer, the CDC has now come out and stated that neck gaiters can be an effective form of control, especially when worn in a double layer.
